My name is Danae van Jaarsveld.  Last year I graduated top of my class and Cum Laude in Therapeutic Massage Therapy from the Tina Scholtz Potchefstroom Academy.  I am currently busy studying Therapeutic Aromatherapy through Camelot International, as I know this will complement my previous studies.

This year, once I had registered with the Allied Health Professional Council of South Africa, I opened my own Therapeutic Massage Therapy practice, Neema Massage, in an attempt to earn a small income while studying full time.  This was very challenging as Therapeutic Massage Therapy is very new in South Africa and many people are unaware of it and the benefits thereof – many think it is a beauty massage!  Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have had to shut my practice, but am hoping I can start again soon.

Studying this year has been challenging – online studying is very difficult as I miss the interaction with my class mates, but is has motivated me to do even better.  Once I graduate next year,  I am hoping to go overseas and fulfil my dream of working with a NFL team as a Therapeutic Massage Therapist.  As a Therapeutic Massage Therapist, my passion is to help people move from states of painful movement into pain free movement.

Without my faith and Noordelike Helpmekaar Studiefonds, none of the above would have been possible – I would have never been able to achieve all of the above.  To have been able to continue my studies has been such a blessing and I will be eternally grateful to them!
